Walking Song

My walking song is ‘Face the World’ by Nipsey Hussle. The title itself resonates with me, I believe that I must face the world and everything that it throws at me. I can’t run from any problems and instead must face reality. The smoothness of the sample and rapping of Nipsey Hussle really gives me energy. The cadence of the song really does give the vibe of a “walking song” that gives you confidence. I enjoy how he talks about struggling and chasing your goals. The last line of the song is “Regardless of what you went through, you got something to contribute”. This reamplifies the mindset of no excuses and to make your life your own story type of meaning.

I was a complete homebody, unadventurous, and very much directionless. My brother, whom I always looked up to for his seemingly innate abilities in skills, socializing, and sports, left for army basic training during the summer following my culmination of middle school. Reflecting on my middle school life, I couldn't point to any significant memories' worth mentioning, and unsurprisingly, I wasn't content. However, with my brother's departure, I experienced a profound realization. Suddenly, I no longer linger in his shadow after his departure. This beca
